Testing Process
The entire testing process can be broken down into three parts consisting of the following:
-
INTAKE:
After completing all the initial paperwork, I will contact you for a detailed interview to identify the problem areas and determine the appropriate assessment measures for your child’s evaluation. -
TESTING:
Once we complete the intake interview, I will meet with your child to begin the testing. Due to the nature of the assessments, these sessions must be in-person. Most batteries take about 5-6 hours to complete over the course of three to four visits, and consist of intelligence testing, educational assessment, cognitive/processing assessment (phonological processing, memory, attention, language, and executive functioning), as well as emotional-social-behavioral assessment. -
FEEDBACK:
Lastly, after the evaluation process is complete, you will return to the office, without your child, for a feedback session. This meeting can also be conducted on Zoom for the family’s convenience. This last session typically takes 90 minutes. During this meeting, I will present and interpret the findings with you and answer any questions you may have. I will offer referrals and treatment recommendations to help you decide on the next steps that are best for your child. Following this meeting, you will receive your child’s final report.
